Blue Power Carbolic bath soap is a genuine red carbolic soap of very high quality. It lathers well and has a distinctive "leathery" or medicinal fragrance. The Carbolic ingredient kills germs and works well as an overall deodorant body soap.
Blue Power is one of the top selling brands in Jamaica where it is very widely used. It has a slightly different and somewhat stronger carbolic fragrance than the Island Pride brand.
Over the years, folks have reported many other uses for real carbolic soap besides bathing:
• Many people report that bathing with carbolic soap will help repel mosquitoes and other biting insects. Missionaries and travelers to remote jungle areas have reported taking with them a large supply of carbolic soap for just this reason. Some folks dissolve carbolic soap shavings in rubbing alcohol and use it on exposed skin as an insect repellent while outdoors, with excellent results!
