TBS Minotome Plus Cryostat
chamber can cool from ambient to –20°C (–4°F) in 60 minutes, and features accurate temperature control at the knife edge.
The –40°C  quick-freeze plate accommodates numerous samples and provides convenient temperature readouts. Inside the cryostat chamber, the microtome is placed at a horizontal angle to provide greater visibility to the standing technician.
The updated cabinet features inset sides and a steep front for increased user comfort, and a membrane control panel that is user- and glove-friendly. Shortened defrost time allows for higher productivity and efficiency.
Manual or automatic defrost is available.
Forward and reverse coarse movement of the specimen arm can be done manually or with a motor drive.
The control switch for the motor drive can be held down for continuous movement or tapped for a 10mm (13/32") advance. The convection-cooled chamber is spacious and contains a large specimen freezing and storage space. Knife safety guard offers operator protection from injury. The microtome accommodates reusable knives or disposable blades.
The Minotome PLUS™ offers speed, convenience and reliability and is designed for use as a cryogenic sectioning device in research applications.
The advance/ retract function of the motorized arm improves operator safety and efficiency; also features a manual ratchet wheel at the rear of the microtome. The quick freeze plate accommodates up to 13 specimen holders for sample preparation; rapidly freeze specimen down to–40ºC. Unit comes with a handy temperature selection table with ideal sample running guidelines.
The intuitive control panel is glove friendly for user safety and very easy to program. Use the control panel to set the desired section thickness, program time and temperature parameters, display freeze plate and chamber temperatures, and illuminate the cutting chamber.
For added convenience, cryostat comes equipped with front casters to help you easily transport unit to your desired location.
